Winter in Northern Virginia usually means cozy sweaters, earlier sunsets… and thankfully, really good food deals. One of the DMV’s most anticipated dining events, Metropolitan Washington Winter Restaurant Week, is officially back, and Ashburn is once again represented at the table.
Running January 19–25, Winter Restaurant Week is a weeklong celebration where restaurants across DC, Maryland, and Virginia roll out specially priced, multi-course menus. It’s basically permission to treat yourself without blowing your dining budget.
What Is Winter Restaurant Week?
Hosted by the Restaurant Association of Metropolitan Washington, this event happens twice a year and highlights the region’s diverse culinary scene. During the week, participating restaurants offer fixed-price menus that typically include:
Brunch or lunch: $25 or $35
Dinner: $40, $55, or $65
Many restaurants also offer optional wine or cocktail pairings, and some even feature to-go or family style options.
Ashburn’s Local Spotlight
This year, Celebration by Rupa Vira is the Ashburn restaurant participating in Winter Restaurant Week. Known for its modern approach to Indian cuisine, including vegan-friendly options.
Restaurant Week is a great opportunity for locals who’ve been meaning to try it (or return for a repeat visit) to explore curated menu offerings at a set price.
Planning Tips Before You Go
Make reservations early. Popular time slots tend to fill up fast.
Check the fine print. Restaurant Week pricing usually doesn’t include beverages, tax, or gratuity.
Browse menus ahead of time. This helps avoid last-minute indecision (and menu regret).
